General Terms and Conditions Career Event: Doing Good & Doing Business Pitch

The Career Event: Doing Good & Doing Business Pitch, hereinafter referred to as the Pitch Event, is an initiative organized by Centre for Entrepreneurs and The Hague Student Investment Fund (HSIF), hereinafter referred to as the organizers. Article 1: General

  1. A participant is defined as an individual who has officially registered for the event through the designated HSIF registration channel and received a written invitation from the organizers.
  2. These General Terms and Conditions govern all proposals, agreements, services, and events associated with the Pitch Event. Submission of an entry implies agreement with these General Terms and Conditions. A complimentary digital copy is available to pitchers upon request.
  3. The Pitch Event reserves the right to unilaterally modify these General Terms and Conditions.
  4. Contrary terms and/or conditions from third parties are inapplicable and expressly rejected.
  5. Nullification or annulment of one or more provisions does not affect the applicability of the remaining conditions. Null or annulable provisions will be replaced by those most closely aligned with their original purpose.
  6. Deviations from these General Terms and Conditions or agreements with the Pitch Event are valid only when agreed upon in writing.
  7. Dutch law governs these General Terms and Conditions. Complaints must initially be communicated to the organization of the Pitch Event.

Article 2: Participation

  1. Employees of the Pitch Event team are ineligible to participate in the pitches.
  1. Participation is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above residing in the Netherlands and studying at THUAS, InHolland, TU Delft, Leiden University, Leiden University of Applied Science.
  2. Registration for the Pitch Event is exclusively conducted through the form on the HSIF website.
  3. The organziers will only consider fully completed applications.
  4. The submission deadline is May 1th 2024, at 23:59. Submissions received after this date will not be considered, unless the organizers decides otherwise. Changes in the deadline will be communicated through our website.
  5. Each participant may register only once.
  6. Withholding or providing incorrect information leading to misrepresented participation in the Pitch Event will result in exclusion.
  7. Pitch Event reserves the right to reject submissions without providing a reason and/or to exclude pitchers violating the general terms and conditions.
  8. By submitting an entry, the participant consents to the Pitch Event storing and processing their personal data for event-related purposes. Partners of Pitch Event receive participant data for communication purposes, with the participant's explicit consent. Personal data will not be disclosed to other parties.

Article 3: Intellectual Property

  1. Pitchers agree, by registering, to the publication of submissions on the HSIF website and other communication channels.
  1. Pitchers guarantee ownership of the submitted entry and related ideas, knowledge, and/or the essence of the business. Written permission from right holder(s) for exploitation is required.
  2. Pitchers agree that images, trademarks, photos, audio/video clips, and other items from their participation may be recorded, distributed, reproduced, and/or disclosed on the HSIF website and other communication channels without prior permission.
  3. Copyrights to all material mentioned remain the property of the organizers. Pitchers commit not to (re)use, reproduce, distribute, or exploit this material without written consent from the organizers.

Article 4: The Competition

  1. The Pitch Event reserves the right to modify and/or interrupt the competition at any time.
  2. The jury's composition is under the responsibility of the organizers and comprises independent experts.

Article 5: Rights and Exploitation

  1. Pitchers declare that visual material and audio clips used during the Pitch are cleared of rights. Pitchers indemnify the organizers from potential claims by rights holders and third parties.
  2. Ideas, knowledge, and/or the essence of the pitch must be owned by the participant, or written permission from right holder(s) for exploitation is required.
  3. Pitchers acknowledge that the Pitch Event and related outcomes are the organizers intellectual property.

Article 6: Publicity

  1. Pitchers agree to the disclosure of their participation through online and offline media channels for the Pitch Event. This includes the publication of submissions on the organizers website and other communication channels.
  2. This provision extends to publicity after the conclusion of the Pitch Event.

Article 7: Liability

  1. The organizers are not liable for any damage related to participation unless attributed to the intent or gross negligence of the Pitch Event.
  2. If the organizers are liable, damages are limited to direct damage, up to the maximum amount payable by the organizers chosen liability insurance in the relevant case.
  3. The organization of the Pitch Event is not liable for claims or complaints arising from infringement of third-party rights or damage suffered by third parties due to the subject/content of the participant's submission. Pitchers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organization of the Pitch Event in these cases.

Article 8: Partners

  1. Partners of the Pitch Event are affiliated with the event, allowing the organizers to use their logos and names in various communication channels.
  2. Partners of the Pitch Event are not automatically partners of subsequent events.

These General Terms and Conditions are effective as of March 21, 2024.
